This is the revolution that is (and has been) taking place in the competition for mind space. From the ’50′s and ’60′s where turning the channel selector knob to one of 3 network stations was the norm … to finding your remote control in the 1980′s and choosing one of hundreds of cable channel choices … the evolution continues with GoogleTV, search based content delivery.

There are many social ramifications to this development, but certainly one of the most exciting (and challenging) is that content development is no longer restricted to the manipulations of a few giant media companies. Barring government intervention, content from all social and economic environments may soon have distribution access to the place where most people spend the largest amounts of their free time … the TV.

The 1950′s until the early ’80′s ….. 300,000 children stolen and sold in Spain …. Dictator Franco and the Catholic Church were involved …. BBC Special Report to be aired in early November.

If this is true, what a mess this will have made of so many lives. For now …. will be watching the BBC Special Report to learn more.

Thank you Rob Bell, for setting the record straight.

In anticipation of the release of Rob Bell’s book Love Wins earlier this year, a number of well known pastors, teachers, and ministry leaders were gathering wood, looking for a match, and preparing for a human bonfire. After all, that is what you do with a heretic, isn’t it?  As “innocently” as John Calvin used his position and influence to ensure the execution of Michael Servetus, and in a disturbing display of their apparent mystic powers, these men publicly slandered Rob Bell, boldly lying about his historic testimony, and making false accusations about the content of his new book—many before the book was even released.

Perhaps some of these men have publicly apologized? If so, please send me links to the posts or videos as I would like to include the links here.

God’s word exposes these men in Matthew 15 as being defiled. Pastors, teachers, or ministry leaders that participate in unrepentant, “blind” heretic hunting are not leaders of The Church. They are not to be followed. They are blind guides. What were their motives? Jesus had some important lessons for us to learn about blind guides, about following them, and about what comes out of our mouths, so read His words below carefully. Then read them again.

Jesus called the crowd to him and said, “Listen and understand. What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them, but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.”

Then the disciples came to him and asked, “Do you know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this?”

He replied, “Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be pulled up by the roots. Leave them; they are blind guides. If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.”

Peter said, “Explain the parable to us.”

“Are you still so dull?” Jesus asked them.  “Don’t you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? But the things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart, and these defile them.  For out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.  These are what defile a person; but eating with unwashed hands does not defile them.”

I have not read Rob Bell’s book. This blog is not about his book. This blog is about learning to obey Jesus in identifying who to listen to and who not to listen to. Those who slander and give false testimony are not leaders in the Church. They are not to have a voice. The Church is not to follow them as they do not follow Christ.

This blog is about learning to obey Jesus by taking captive our own thoughts and taming our own tongues. No citizen of the Kingdom is exempt from following the teachings of Christ, the example of Christ, and the example of those who follow Him.

So, with that said, how have you spoken of Rob Bell? Did you allow these blind guides to lead you to jump on the gossip bandwagon? Is the Church to be unified? Would Jesus want you to send Rob Bell a note of encouragement or an apology today?

In Matthew 10:32-33 Jesus said:

“Everyone who acknowledges me publicly here on earth, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. But everyone who denies me here on earth, I will also deny before my Father in heaven.”

Pretty clear. People that want to preach, teach, rebuke, and wax holy should not have difficulty associating their name with the name of Jesus. So…. are they sent from the enemy? Perhaps, but just as likely these people are only immature and in need of discipleship. They are simply infants in their relationship with Jesus.

This week I have had anonymous “prophets” attempt to impart prophecies, anonymous “brothers” offering Apostolic correction, and anonymous ”saints” supposedly on order from God dropping by to offer suggestions on how my wife should dress. Pretty average week really.  Not surprising, they each insisted on their “right” to privacy. What they are really protecting is their “right” to be abusive without taking any personal responsibility, or facing the consequences of their actions.

So Christians, please do not be offended if I ask you to identify yourself. It is for your own good. An anonymous profile is a practice of “private” behavior. Are you afraid to have your name publicly identified with Jesus? Remember Jesus’ response to such people?  He will deny you to His Father in heaven! 

I understand that not everyone is a Christian. And this is even more of a reason for Christians to disclose their identity, and to act with honest, open behavior as an example to the world.

“If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin”.  1 John 1:6-7 

I encourage those that visit our sites to use their real names just as we do. If you want to continue to use your alias name, then please put your real name on your profile. And if you find that you do not want to disclose your identity, I do understand. Likewise, I hope that you understand that refusal to identify yourself will result in the loss of your communication privileges.

I also encourage you to establish a culture of protection on the social community profiles that you have responsibility for. Do not allow the enemy to come in and anonymously slaughter sheep on your pages. If you start requiring that people identify themselves in order to have communication privileges, many of the offenses (and offenders)  will disappear.
